Teacher Terms and Code of Conduct
Version 2 November 2026. Calmli Music LLP ("Calmli").
Calmli and you
Teach on Calmli lets you run your own music school inside the Calmli app. Calmli Music LLP provides the app; you teach your students and decide how.
Calmli approves every teacher personally, and may pause or close a school at any time. Records are kept when it does.
Your students
You invite each student by a mobile number, and only whoever confirms that number joins; for anyone under 18, you invite a parent, who joins first and agrees.
Calmli keeps your students' names and what you send them only to run your school for you. It never sells them or shows ads, and its own staff look at them only to answer a report.
When you close your school or delete your account, everyone in it leaves with it. Records are kept for one year to answer any report, then deleted.
Money
During the beta, families pay you directly. Calmli doesn't collect, hold or pass on fees, and isn't part of any arrangement about them.
Plans are free during the beta. If Calmli introduces paid plans, you'll be told in the app before anything is charged, and you can stay on Free.
Notes
Notes are for teaching: what to practise, how, and what's next. Parents see every note sent to their child.
A withdrawn note leaves the family's view and Calmli keeps a copy. A reported note stays exactly as it was sent.
Code of Conduct
- Teach and write as you would with the parent in the room.
- Never ask a student under 18 to contact you outside the app or without their parent knowing.
- Nothing sexual, violent, hateful or harassing, ever. No photos or recordings of students.
- Ask for nothing about a student beyond what teaching needs.
- Be honest about who you are, your experience and your fees.
- Don't use Calmli to advertise or sell anything but your own teaching.
- Help Calmli when it looks into a report.
- Breaking this code can close your school at once.
Reports and safety
Anyone in a school can report a note or a concern to Calmli. Calmli reviews every report within a day.
If a child may be at risk, Calmli keeps the evidence, pauses the school and reports it to the police, as India's POCSO Act requires.
Questions and complaints
Calmli's grievance officer is Kamlesh Purohit, at hello@calmli.in. Every complaint is acknowledged within a day and resolved within 15 days.
These terms may change. A new version is shown in the app before it applies. Indian law governs them.
