Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the Calmli app and the music tuition services provided by Calmli Music LLP ("Calmli", "we", "us"), Chennai, India. By enrolling or using the app, you agree to them.
1. Who can use Calmli
The Calmli app is private and available only to students enrolled with Calmli Music and their parents or guardians. Accounts are created by enrolment and activated by the school; you may not share your login with anyone else.
If the student is a minor, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and is responsible for the account and for fees.
2. Our services
Calmli provides one-to-one music tuition, in person or online, and small-group classes in person, along with the Calmli app for lessons, practice, homework, schedules and fees. Course content and pace are personalised by the teacher. The app's practice tools (tuner, tanpura, metronome, Studio and Vocal Studio) support your lessons; their measurements are a guide for you and your teacher, not a grade or an assessment.
3. Classes, scheduling and attendance
- Classes run at the weekly slot agreed at enrolment or booked in the app.
- Rescheduling: you may request to move a class with at least 24 hours' notice. Each course includes 3 free reschedules (compensation classes). Reschedules are confirmed by the teacher, subject to availability.
- A class cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or a no-show, is counted as used.
- If Calmli cancels or moves a class, it is rescheduled at no cost and does not use one of your sessions.
4. Fees and payments
- Tuition fees are payable in advance for the course or package. Families in India pay in Indian Rupees (₹); families abroad are shown and charged the fee in their own currency, and may choose to pay the rupee price instead. The amount shown before you pay is the amount charged.
- Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details.
- Access to the app portal opens once the enrolment fee is paid and confirmed.
- Fees are not refunded once a course has started; the 3 included compensation classes are our provision for missed sessions. Duplicate or failed payments, lessons we cannot give you and refunds required by law are covered in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- Fees may be revised for future courses; you will be told before renewal.
- These are fees for real, scheduled music tuition — a service delivered by our teachers — not for digital content within the app.
5. Your account
Keep your password confidential and your contact details up to date. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. You may delete your account at any time from the app (account button → Account & privacy → Delete my account), and ask us to erase your records as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access for misuse, non-payment, or behaviour that disrupts teaching.
6. Acceptable use
Do not record, copy, redistribute or publish lesson material, teacher notes or class sessions without our written permission. Do not attempt to access other students' information or interfere with the app's operation. Use the practice tools within your comfort: if singing or playing causes pain or strain, stop and tell your teacher.
7. Intellectual property
The Calmli app, the Calmli name and logo, our course structure, roadmaps and teaching materials remain the property of Calmli Music LLP. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own learning while enrolled.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and liability
We work to keep the app running reliably but provide it "as is" and cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service; features may change or be withdrawn. To the extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data you keep only on your own device; and (b) our total liability in connection with the app or our services is limited to the fees you paid for the current course. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction.
